Debora Frodl is an experienced independent director, global C-suite executive, and catalyst for transformative growth. She is best known for being an astute global strategist and industry thought leader in growth acceleration, innovation, energy transition, and environmental, social, and governance (ESG).

An experienced governance leader, Frodl serves on the Board of Directors for ITC Holdings Corporation and serves on the Human Resource and Governance Committee. She also served on the boards of directors for Renewable Energy Group, Inc. (recently acquired) and Spring Valley Acquisition Corporation (recently merged), and she was Chair of the Board for Spruce Power Holdings Corporation (recently executed a transformational acquisition). Additionally, she serves on advisory boards of Greenbelt Capital Partners, U.S. Department of Energy, Joint Institute on Strategic Energy Analysis, University of Minnesota Institute on the Environment, and Masdar’s Women in Sustainability, Environment and Renewable Energy in the United Arab Emirates.

Frodl founded her own strategic consulting firm, DF Strategies LLC. Prior to consulting, Frodl had a distinguished 28-year career with General Electric (GE). As Global Executive Director of Ecomagination at GE, she repositioned this clean technology and sustainability strategy into one of multi-faceted innovation and expansive global growth. She executed on GE’s commitment, $25 billion in Ecomagination innovation investment that generated over $300 billion in revenues while lowering company emissions by 48% and freshwater use by 51%. Under her leadership, GE was recognized with the 2017 Zayed Future Energy Prize, the 2016 Fortune “Change the World” list, Newsweek’s Top Green Companies, and The Drum’s “B2B Brand of the Year.”

Previous positions at GE include Chief Strategy Officer and Global Alternative Fuels Leader. In this role, Frodl pioneered the business strategy to decarbonize the commercial fleet industry through alternative fuel vehicles and infrastructure technologies, generating over $1 billion. As Chief Commercial Officer of GE Capital’s Fleet Services, she transformed an underperforming business to achieve record annual growth of $3.5 billion; and as Chief Marketing Officer of GE Capital’s largest business ($80 billion), she initiated a marketing organization that catapulted global organic growth. Frodl also served as Chief Executive Officer of GE Capital’s Public Finance, a $1.5 billion business, and Dealer Financial Services, a $1.7 billion business; she delivered record double-digit profitable growth.

Frodl completed “Making Corporate Boards More Effective” at Harvard Business School and “Director’s Consortium” at Stanford University Graduate School of Business. She is a certified Board Leadership Fellow with the National Association of Corporate Directors. In 2019, she was recognized by Directors & Boards as a “Director to Watch” and Twin Cities Business as a 2023 “Outstanding Director.” She holds an MBA from the University of St. Thomas and BSBA from Minnesota State University.
